Healing Your Headspace
From overwhelmed to emotionally empowered
Right now, you feel paralyzed and an emotional captive in your business.
You’re an expert in your industry, but you’re so disconnected from your numbers that you struggle to pay yourself a living wage if at all. You’re undervaluing your worth and time, so you’re stuck in a cycle of working overtime. You can’t remember the last time you took a holiday.
You’re filled with personal doubts and sometimes even question your entrepreneurial journey, thinking ‘What the heck am I even doing?’ You started your business with the best of intentions, but the financial freedom and security you crave feel so far away.
To heal your headspace, you need to look at where you’re spending your emotional energy - and find professional support so you can foster a healthier relationship with money, time and capacity.
Investing in our mental well-being is the bedrock of a fulfilling entrepreneurial journey. When we prioritize our mental health, we don't just navigate the an entrepreneurial path; we relish every twist, turn, and triumph along the way.
Now that you’re here, I’ll show you how to release your overwhelm.
Step 1 - Connect with your values
Connecting with your values is a crucial part of building a business that gives you personal fulfillment. In fact, you’ll need to continually revisit your values as your business evolves.
Start by asking yourself these questions:
- What personal values do you hold that guide you in life and business? What do you care about?
- What would building a business that’s truly in alignment with your values, giving you deep and lasting personal fulfillment, look like?
- How many days do you want to work per week? How many hours per day?
- How many weeks do you want to take off in a year?
- What will it feel like to accomplish this life? How will you feel?
- Is the way that you have set up your business helping you work in a manner that plays to your strengths and stays true to what you value?
Step 2 - Invest in you, invest in your wellbeing
There’s no getting around it. Entrepreneurship comes with lots of stressful moments when you have to put on a brave face and plunge into the unknown.
All this stress can take its toll. And you are not alone. In a 2020 study at UC Berkeley examining entrepreneurs’ strengths and vulnerabilities from a psychological perspective the results revealed that 72% of entrepreneurs had mental health concerns.
That’s why I recommend every entrepreneur seek support from a therapist when experiencing feelings of isolation, burnout, anxiety, depression, and when interpersonal conflicts are the norm and a struggle to manage. Investing your time, money and capacity in this support will liberate you from your emotional overwhelm and set you and your business up for well-being.
Step 3 - Consider your business’ financial future
Getting a solid grasp on your numbers and making them a habit will help you secure your financial future and craft a life where your work and personal time harmonize… but only once you’ve taken care of your mental health.
To grow your business to the point that it’s an asset you can sell, it’s going to take time and the infusion of a lot of financial resources. And by prioritizing your mental health you will have the self-awareness, coping mechanisms and emotional skills to have business success and life fullfillment.
The sad truth is, if you ignore your emotional wellbeing now, your business may not be able to sell. You may even need to PAY to close it.
My goal is to help you gain the clarity both operational and financial to stabilize the financial piece while you prioritize your self-care so that you can enjoy a more profitable future.
